This is an IKEA co-worker
She works with IKEA Good Cause campaigns. She has just seen a presentation on the IWitness programme.
She is interested in becoming an IWitness Global Citizen
So, she asks her manager
about applying.
Each retail country develops its own selection process, since the number of co-workers who can go on each trip is very limited.
Good news!
She is selected to go on an IWitness trip.
She is one of the lucky few!
She writes an introductory blog post.
All selected co-workers must blog about their upcoming trip.
She arrives at
her destination.
She meets kids benefiting from the projects funded by the IKEA Foundation.
The next few days are spent learning about the projects, seeing how they change children’s lives, and meeting teachers and parents.
She takes pictures…
…lots of pictures.
She writes about her experience and shares it on the IWitness Global Citizen’s blog…
…and social media
She returns home.
She continues to share her experience and reflections.
Through sharing her story, she motivates even more IKEA co-workers to get involved.

The IWitness Global Citizens programme gives shop-floor co-workers a chance to see first-hand how IKEA Good Cause campaigns contribute to a better life for children in the world’s poorest communities. The trips motivate, educate and engage co-workers, who then fuel enthusiasm for the campaigns among colleagues and customers by recording and sharing their experiences.
